Planning note
Kaçkar routes are weather-sensitive. The guide may shorten, reroute or pause a day for safety.
Mountain requirements
- Route access, camping and local restrictions can vary across the Kaçkar protected mountain landscape. TAF Travel confirms the current route and overnight plan before departure.
- Expect wet trails, stream crossings, fog and fast weather changes even in the warmer season. Keep waterproof layers and spare dry clothing accessible.
- Participants need good hiking fitness and the ability to manage uneven, sometimes steep terrain with a daypack.
- If the chosen route includes a higher summit or early-season snow, the guide may add helmet, crampon or ice-axe requirements.
Personal equipment
- Sturdy waterproof hiking boots and trekking poles
- Waterproof jacket and trousers, warm mid-layer and spare base layer
- Sleeping bag and sleeping mat if camping is part of the confirmed route
- Headlamp, water bottles, sun protection and personal medication
- Small first-aid kit, dry bags and protection for electronics
- Warm hat, gloves and spare socks
- Passport, insurance details and a compact daypack
