The journey begins in Marrakech and the High Atlas, where two days of trekking lead to the summit of Mount Toubkal. The route then continues through Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Dades Valley, Todgha Gorges, and the Merzouga desert before returning across the Atlas to Marrakech.

The itinerary below follows the supplied source program, adapted to the TAF Travel format.

Day 1

Marrakech · Imlil · Toubkal Refuge

Transfer from Marrakech to Imlil, a village at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Meet the mountain guide and mule team, then begin the scenic trek toward Toubkal Refuge at 3,207 m. Overnight at the refuge with dinner.

Day 2

Toubkal Summit · Imlil · Marrakech

Start early for the summit of Mount Toubkal at 4,167 m. After panoramic views across the High Atlas and surrounding landscapes, descend to the refuge and continue to Imlil. Transfer back to Marrakech for a well-earned rest in a riad.

Day 3

Marrakech · Ait Ben Haddou · Ouarzazate · Dades Valley

Drive through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah and Ouarzazate. Continue through the Skoura Oasis and Valley of Roses to Dades Valley for the night.

Day 4

Dades Valley · Todgha Gorges · Merzouga

Travel through Berber villages to the Todgha Gorges, where high canyon walls rise above the route. Continue to Merzouga, ride camels across the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset, and spend the night in a desert camp with dinner and music by the fire.

Day 5

Merzouga Desert Exploration

Discover the desert around Merzouga, including Khamlia village, Gnawa music, nomadic families, fossil beds, and oases. Return to the camp or desert guesthouse to relax and enjoy the desert atmosphere.

Day 6

Merzouga · Draa Valley · Agdz or Ouarzazate

Leave the desert and travel through the Draa Valley, with its palm groves, mudbrick kasbahs, and traditional villages. Continue to Agdz or Ouarzazate for the overnight stay.

Day 7

Ouarzazate · Atlas Mountains · Marrakech

Journey back through the High Atlas with scenic stops and local encounters. Arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, where the tour concludes.

Toubkal combines a village approach, a refuge night and a high summit day; the 7-day option adds desert travel. Mountain equipment and refuge sleeping-bag rental must be confirmed per program.
