Day 1
Arrival in Van
Fly to Van at 1,727 metres and transfer to the hotel on Lake Van. If you wish, swim in the lake and visit Van Castle's Urartian inscriptions. Accommodation: hotel. Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 2
Mount Süphan base camp
Drive to Mount Süphan and establish camp at about 2,500 metres. An optional ascent to about 3,100 metres helps the group adjust to the altitude. Accommodation: tent. Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 3
Mount Süphan summit
Start around 4:00 a.m. for the ascent of Mount Süphan at 4,058 metres. Descend to camp, then continue past a waterfall and over a pass to Doğubayazıt. Accommodation: hotel. Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 4
Cultural sites near Doğubayazıt
Visit the legendary Noah's Ark site, the İshak Paşa Palace, and the hot sulphur springs near the sources of the Euphrates. Accommodation: hotel. Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 5
Ascent to Ararat Camp 1
Drive to the trailhead at about 2,200 metres and ascend to Camp 1 at 3,200 metres. Horses carry the main luggage. Accommodation: tent. Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 6
Acclimatization ascent
Make an acclimatization ascent, potentially reaching Camp 2 without the main luggage, then descend to Camp 1 for a meal and rest. Accommodation: tent. Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 7
Ascent to Ararat Camp 2
Pack the tents and ascend to Camp 2 at about 4,200 metres. Horses transport the luggage, and the group settles in for a short night before the summit attempt. Accommodation: tent. Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 8
Ararat summit day
Start around 3:00 a.m. for the ascent to Mount Ararat's summit at 5,137 metres. If conditions require it, use crampons in the icy upper section. Descend to Camp 2, then Camp 1 to celebrate the ascent. Accommodation: tent. Meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 9
Descent to Doğubayazıt
Descend to the trailhead, transfer to the hotel in Doğubayazıt, and rest. Accommodation: hotel. Meals: breakfast and dinner.
Day 10
Departure from Van
Transfer to Van airport for your return flight, with an optional extension available on request. Meal: breakfast.
